The Western New York Drive-in Movie Society is an organization dedicated primarily to the preservation of the three remaining Drive-in movie theaters that we have in the Western New York area. We are friends to all Drive-in movie theaters, but we primarily focus on the Sunset Drive-in, the Transit Drive-in, and Don Loomis' Delevan Drive-in.

Our goal is to help spread the word of what a great value a night at the Drive-in movie theater is for young families, and to get everyone to experience at least one night at a Drive-in movie theater every year. Our feeling is that if you spend one night at a Drive-in movie theater, then you will make it a regular habit.

When you take your family to the Drive-in you do not need to hire a babysitter, the movies are two for the price of one, the kids can fall asleep in the back of the car without bothering anyone, and you won't have to deal with all of the distractions that go along with seeing a movie at a high priced indoor movie theater. You can enjoy some of the best concessions in the entertainment business, and the pricing on Drive-in concessions is more reasonable than a meal at a fast food restaurant.

The Drive-in movie theater was a staple of American society for over 4 decades until it slowly started to fade away in the middle of the 1980's. But with the help of some hard working entrepreneurs the outdoor theater is making a comeback and now there are approximately 400 theaters operating around the world with new and re-built ones opening every season!

The American outdoor movie experience is starting to catch on in other parts of the world, and as the ozoners regain their popularity in the United States they are sure to catch on in new parts of the world. Some of the largest outdoor theaters are in countries other than the United States , and that says a lot to the popularity of something that is truly an American idea.

If you have never been to the Drive-in then you owe it to yourself and your family to start creating memories of your own of fun nights under the stars watching movies and being with the family!
